La Liga giants Barcelona are giving serious consideration to affording a contract renewal to versatile frontman Ferran Torres.
This comes despite the ongoing speculation surrounding the future of the Spanish international.
Attacker Ferran is fresh off a productive campaign all told in Catalunya’s capital, giving rise to 21 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions.
Still considered as below the standard required of a Barcelona centre-forward by large sections of the club’s fanbase, though, the ex-Manchester City man has been heavily linked with a potential summer exit.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then no such transfer is likely to be on the cards.
Instead, with Ferran actively pushing to stay put at the Camp Nou, Mundo Deportivo report that:
‘The determination to stay and fight for his place has captivated the (Barca) sporting management, who are now considering renewing his contract.’
