La Liga giants Barcelona are willing to fork over €12 million to land one of Brazilian football’s next breakout talents.
That’s according to Diario AS, citing journalist Diego Firmino, who points towards Luis Benedetti as the player in question.
Benedetti, for his part, is a 19-year-old defender who chiefly operates in a central role.
The youngster is currently plying his trade on the books of Brazilian heavyweights Palmeiras, with whom he broke into the first-team picture earlier this year.
Benedetti has long been hailed for his physical and technical qualities alike, with the Brazilian’s towering physique accompanied by impressive poise and passing ability.
Such traits have even culminated in comparisons with Real Madrid prodigy Dean Huijsen.
And as alluded to above, taking full note of Benedetti’s emergence have been those behind the scenes at Barcelona.
As per AS:
‘According to information published by Diego Firmino in the last few hours, Palmeiras are demanding at least €15 million, while Barcelona are reportedly willing to pay €12 million to immediately secure Benedetti ‘s services.’
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are also understood to be keeping a close eye on Benedetti’s situation.
