FC Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen suffered a gruesome partial ACL rupture in his left knee back in December.
The 29-year-old centre-back had barely been playing regularly at the time, which had cast doubts over his future at the club beyond this season.
The serious nature of the injury meant that Christensen was going to be sidelined for a prolonged period.
Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, Christensen is expected to be out of action for at least another month.
It was suggested that the Danish international will be out of action for a period of 3-4 months after his injury was confirmed.
So far, the defender has been out of action for more than three months and will shortly hit the four-month mark in his recovery as well.

However, as per the aforementioned report, Christensen will be unavailable for one more month, indicating that his recovery will likely take a little longer than what was initially anticipated.
Prior to his injury, the former Chelsea defender had played only 17 times across all competitions this season, scoring a goal in the process.
As for his future, given his unfavourable situation because of the injury, Barcelona are willing to offer Christensen a short-term extension for one year as long as he is willing to accept a lower salary than what he currently earns.
Whether or not Christensen is willing to accept such a proposal remains to be seen. For now, he will be fully focused on recovering completely from his partial ACL tear, regaining full fitness, and helping the team in the final phase of the season.
