Barcelona fans smashed a window of Atletico Madrid’s team bus before Wednesday’s Champions League encounter.
The Blaugrana supporters outside the Camp Nou threw bottles and other missiles at the bus carrying Atletico players to the stadium. No one on the bus was hurt.
A similar incident happened outside Camp Nou last month before their Copa del Rey semi-final second leg.
Barcelona won the game 3-0, but Atletico made it to the final after thrashing their rivals 4-0 in the home leg in Madrid.
Despite a heavy police presence outside the stadium, Barca supporters managed to cause damage by throwing bottles at the rival team’s bus.
Diego Simeone’s side took a big step towards the Champions League semi-finals as they outclassed Barcelona 2-0 on Wednesday.
The hosts dominated possession for much of the opening half, but they lacked quality in the final third.
The match turned massively in Atletico’s favour just before half-time when Pau Cubarsi was shown a red card after a foul on Giuliano Simeone.
Julian Alvarez stepped up to send the resulting free-kick into the back of the net.
Alexander Sorloth doubled the visitors’ advantage with a great finish in the 71st minute, as they claimed their first victory at Camp Nou in 20 years.
The result leaves Barcelona with a monumental task to overturn the deficit in the second leg next Tuesday.
