After a break of some years, FC Barcelona returned to their beloved stadium Spotify Camp Nou this season, and the Blaugrana team has been playing its home games at this stadium for some time now.
However, the renovation of the stadium is not yet complete, and the construction process is still underway.
A key part of this process involves obtaining the necessary licenses from the Barcelona City Council, which must approve each area of the stadium before it can be opened to supporters. These permits confirm that the renovated sections meet the required safety and building standards.
In this regard, Mundo Deportivo reports that the Catalan giants have finally obtained the 1C license from the Barcelona City Council after months of delay, which will allow the club to open the first and second tiers of the north stand for the upcoming game against Sevilla on Sunday, which also coincides with the polling day of the club’s presidential elections.
This approval would allow the club to fill the stadium to its current full capacity, with no empty seats. Furthermore, the Catalans would now begin the process of issuing 14000 season tickets to their supporters in this part of the stadium.
Barcelona are also working on improving the atmosphere inside the stadium by enabling a new supporters’ section. The Grada d’Animació is expected to be located in the Gol 1957 area of the South Stand with around 1,200 seats, although it remains unclear whether these seats will already be available for the match against Sevilla.
With the North Stand open, Barcelona would be able to give its team and the fans a better atmosphere in the stadium in this crucial final phase of the season.
