Barcelona have been granted a licence to open the fourth stand at Camp Nou after the City Council approved the final phase of their plan, lifting capacity by about 16,000.

The approval activates phase 1C following the latest inspection. Barcelona had been restricted to 46,400 with three stands open while safety standards behind the Gol Nord were addressed. According to Cadena SER, the club are working to secure UEFA sign-off before next Wednesday's Champions League return leg against Newcastle United.

The club had initially briefed a mid-January return for the fourth stand, their first home game of 2026, but further delays pushed it back.

Their plan is to reopen the stand for Sunday’s home match against Sevilla at 16:15 CEST, which coincides with election day. Joan Laporta and Victor Font are vying for the presidency, with the vote taking place on Sunday.

Most of the newly available seats are earmarked for members, with 14,000 allocated and season tickets offered for the remainder of the campaign. The final phase will be reopening the third tier, which is not expected until next season.
