Barcelona legend Lionel Messi sends message to Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé | OneFootball

Former Barcelona star Lionel Messi has taken to social media, to send a message of congratulations the way of ex-Blaugrana teammate Ousmane Dembélé.

This of course comes fresh off an evening to remember for the latter on Monday.

After long establishing himself the frontrunner for the prize owing to his exploits en route to Paris Saint-Germain lifting a first-ever Champions League title last season, Dembélé was crowned the 2025 Ballon d’Or winner.

The Frenchman beat out competition from chief rival Lamine Yamal, of Hansi Flick’s Barcelona, to clinch the award.

And as alluded to above, Dembélé has since received the backing of the greatest player in the Blaugrana’s storied history.

With a record eight ‘Golden Balls’ to his name, Lionel Messi took to his official Instagram account, to share a message of congratulations with his one-time attacking partner in crime:

‘Well done Ous!!! Congratulations, I am so happy for you. You deserve it.’
