Rashford has been tipped for a move to Arsenal if Barcelona transfer falls through
Manchester United have rejected Barcelona’s offer of £13million to sign Marcus Rashford permanently.
That is according to reports from the Daily Mail, who claim Barcelona’s offer is half of the £26m loan-to-buy option for the England international.
Rashford has spent the season on loan with Barca, helping them to retain the La Liga title and reach the Champions League quarter-finals, weighing in with 14 goals and 14 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.
A permanent move to Spain for the 28-year-old has been placed into doubt following Anthony Gordon’s arrival from Newcastle for £70m, in addition to Barcelona plotting a £100m+ move for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez to replace Robert Lewandowski.
Pair that with their pre-existing attacking options of Raphinha, Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal, it remains to be seen if there will be any space left for Rashford in the squad, or the money left over in the budget.
The aforementioned report states Barcelona have until June 15 to submit an improved offer to Man United or ask to take him on loan again, otherwise after this summer’s World Cup, Rashford will be returning to England.

It would be a surprise, however, to see Rashford make a permanent return to Man Utd as he does not seem to be part of Michael Carrick’s future plans for the club, but there has been interest from other Premier League teams.
Arsenal, Newcastle, Chelsea and Aston Villa have been linked with Rashford, who may well have to take a pay cut from his current £315,000 per-week wage in order to seal a move away from Old Trafford for good.
The Englishman, though, has repeatedly expressed his enthusiasm for staying on at Barcelona.
"For sure," Rashford told ESPN in late 2025 when asked if he wanted to stay in Spain.
"I'm enjoying this football club and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game. For a player it is an honour."
