According to Mundo Deportivo, the midfielder’s progress has not gone unnoticed, especially by Spain national team manager Luis de la Fuente.

With the World Cup on the horizon, every performance matters and Gavi is delivering at exactly the right time.

Trust from Flick is driving the comeback

Under Hansi Flick, Gavi is no longer being eased in cautiously.

Instead, he is being trusted in high-pressure fixtures, which is a clear sign that Barcelona see him as central to their ambitions.

Since returning in March against Sevilla, his minutes have steadily increased.

He has featured in key clashes against Atletico Madrid in both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League, where he showed composure, intensity and tactical maturity.

Notably, he played the entire second half in the first leg at Camp Nou and then started the decisive second leg.

Add to that his start against Espanyol, where he clocked 64 minutes, and the pattern is obvious that Gavi is no longer a rotation option, he is becoming a key figure again.

Spain is watching closely

For De la Fuente, Gavi must play regularly and regain rhythm in order to make a case and right now, that boxes are being ticked.

Speaking recently about the Barcelona midfielder’s situation, the Spain coach made his position clear while also leaving the door wide open.

“There are two months to go, which is plenty of time; there are many matches left.

“We’ll assess the situation in two months’ time. We’d all like him to be with us. That would be the best news,” De la Fuente said about the Barcelona midfielder.

All this means Gavi is back in contention, but consistency will decide everything.

A defining stretch ahead

With seven La Liga matches still to play, Gavi has the perfect runway to build momentum.

More importantly, Barcelona are still chasing silverware, giving him the ideal platform to prove he can perform under pressure.

For the player himself, first, he would like to return to peak fitness. Then, help Barcelona win titles. And finally, reclaim his place with Spain on football’s biggest stage.
