Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo, currently on international duty with the Spanish national team, recently sat down with Radioestadio Noche to discuss various topics surrounding the club and his own situation.
The 27-year-old, who joined Barcelona last season, continues to be an influential figure both for Hansi Flick’s side and the national setup.
The discussion came amid controversy surrounding Lamine Yamal’s withdrawal from the Spain squad ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
While the issue has sparked debates across the media, Olmo preferred to keep his comments measured, showing maturity and understanding of the situation.
“Lamine Yamal always wants to be here. If he hasn’t been able to be here, it’s because he’s not 100%.
“In the end, Lamine’s willingness to be here is called into question, but behind closed doors, it’s quite the opposite.
“The relationship between Barça and the RFEF? There’s no problem. Everyone wants him to be 100%. He’s used to people talking about him.”
The midfielder also reflected on his own struggles with injuries, revealing his efforts to avoid further setbacks.

He opened up about his preventive training routine, explaining, “It’s not pleasant to have your name associated with so many injuries.
“In the end, I’m following a method of work to prevent these situations. I believe 100% that it’s good for me.
“It’s football, and you can’t control everything. I want to train more on the field and in the gym for prevention. It’s about finding a balance of what works.”
He also recalled the difficult circumstances surrounding his registration saga last season, which became a hot topic among fans and pundits alike.
Reflecting on that period, he said, “Last year’s situation was not pleasant, but I had complete confidence in the club; it was not up to me.”
Despite the hurdles, Olmo remains ambitious and focused on achieving more silverware with the Catalan giants.
“Last year we won three titles and this year we are going to defend them and go for the one we are missing,” he concluded.
