After a decade away from the club, Dani Olmo returned to FC Barcelona last summer, arriving from RB Leipzig in a deal worth €55 million.

The 27-year-old Spanish international has had injury issues over the course of the campaign but has been a permanent fixture in the starting XI for Hansi Flick when fit and available.

With 11 goals and seven assists from 37 matches in all competitions, Olmo has had a big hand in Barcelona’s domestic treble triumph of La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup.

Olmo’s performances, though, have caught the attention of Manchester City, with manager Pep Guardiola said to be ‘dreaming’ of the attacking midfielder’s signing.

Olmo’s agent dismisses rumours

However, in an exclusive chat with Sky Germany, Andy Bara, the agent of Olmo, has shut down talks of a potential exit in the summer amidst links to Manchester City.

“We’re not talking to any other club. Dani is very happy at Barcelona at the moment, he’s winning titles there and is in a great team,” Bara told Sky.

Continuing, the Barcelona playmaker’s agent added: “The rumours are not true. But of course, you never know what the future holds.”

As mentioned earlier, Olmo’s return to Barça has been hampered by injury problems with the Spaniard missing as many as 15 games due to physical issues.

At the same time, registration issues have also been a constant headache for the 27-year-old attacking midfielder, with Barcelona having had to work hard to ensure that he can play the entire season.

Having managed to win three trophies despite all that, both Olmo and Barça will hope that things go much smoother next season onwards.
