The brass at Barcelona put the names of two members of Hansi Flick’s squad on the table in recent transfer negotiations with La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid.

This of course comes amid the Blaugrana’s ongoing pursuit of Julián Alvarez.

Amid an ongoing search for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, Deco and co. are widely understood to have circled the name of Argentine international Alvarez in red.

Barca, in turn, moved forward with an opening bid last month, offering up a sum in the region of €100 million to Atlético.

As alluded to above, though, the Catalans’ proposal was not based only on financial figures. In addition, the Camp Nou hierarchy are understood to have offered up a pair of players.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Barcelona made a move weeks ago, offering €100 million. And in those discussions, Barcelona put two names on the table: Marc Casadó and Alejandro Balde.’

Atlético’s stance, though, remained unwavering: Alvarez is not for sale.
