Olmo, who has been a key part of Barcelona’s squad this season, was sidelined following an unfortunate incident in that match, which led to his absence in crucial games against Benfica and Atalanta in the Champions League, and Valencia and Alaves in La Liga.

Olmo poised to return vs Valencia

According to MARCA, Olmo is now closing in on full fitness and could return to action against Valencia in Copa Del Rey.

The latest update from the club’s training sessions on Tuesday offers a glimmer of hope for fans eager to see the Spaniard back in action.

Olmo was seen training alongside his teammates, signalling a strong likelihood of his participation in the upcoming Spanish Cup match against Valencia on Thursday.

This match had been circled as a potential return date for Olmo, and with his recent performance in training, all signs point towards him being ready to contribute.

However, the final call will be made after the last training session before the game. The medical team, in consultation with coach Hansi Flick, will assess Olmo’s condition one last time to ensure there’s no risk of re-injury.

The decision will hinge on how well he performs in this final practice session.

On another note, Gavi, who had to leave the field during the match against Alavés due to a head collision with Conechny, did not join the group training session as a precautionary measure. His status remains uncertain for the upcoming fixture.
