Barcelona’s long-standing commitment to youth development has led them to Girona’s highly rated youngster, Enzo Perez, who is rapidly gaining recognition as one of the most exciting midfield prospects in his age group.

According to fresh reports from SPORT, the Catalan giants are keeping a close eye on the young midfielder, who has been making serious waves within Girona’s youth ranks. 

As expected, though, Barcelona are not alone in this pursuit, as interest in the player is beginning to grow both domestically and abroad.

Who is Enzo Perez?

Operating as a central midfielder for their Under-14 side, he has played a key role in a team that is currently leading its division. 

His journey has been particularly interesting. After spending time within Barcelona’s 7-a-side team earlier in his development, he moved away in search of better opportunities. 

A spell at Gimnastic Manresa proved crucial, as it allowed him to grow and gain consistent playing time. 

That decision now appears to be paying off, as his performances have elevated him back onto Barcelona’s radar.

As such, Barcelona are not alone in their pursuit. Several rival clubs are also monitoring his progress closely, recognising his potential as a Spain youth international. 

His growing reputation has even attracted attention from a major European club, although any move abroad would be restricted for now due to age regulations.

Despite the increasing interest, Perez is currently thriving at Girona. The club values his development highly and is keen to continue nurturing his talent. 

They are aware of the attention he is receiving and are expected to take steps to ensure he remains part of their long-term project.

For Barcelona, securing his signature will not be straightforward, as Girona have no intention of losing one of their brightest prospects easily. 

However, his history with the Blaugrana, coupled with the fact that his brother plays for Barcelona, can work in their favour.
