La Liga giants Barcelona are ready to kick back into gear efforts to bring in Bournemouth star Eli Junior Kroupi with a view to next season.
This comes amid increasing doubt regarding the chances of a deal for Julián Alvarez coming to fruition.
It is of course common knowledge at this point that Deco and the Camp Nou brass are on the hunt for fresh blood at centre-forward this summer. Following Robert Lewandowski’s free agent departure, the addition of a goalscorer has been circled in red as a priority operation.
To date, Atlético Madrid star Julián Alvarez has been the player most heavily linked with a move to Catalunya’s capital. With the board at the Metropolitano refusing to budge in their stance that the Argentine is not for sale, however, Barca have been forced to look into alternative options, too.
And with as much in mind, the name of the aforementioned Junior Kroupi has come back to the fore in a major way this week.
As per a report from Diario Sport:
‘FC Barcelona do not consider the Kroupi operation closed. Despite the fact that Bournemouth declared the young striker non-transferable, the Catalan club have put his name back on the table.’
It now remains to be seen if the Blaugrana are willing to meet the substantial demands set out by Bournemouth for the club’s crown jewel.
