FC Barcelona were already expected to be without some key players for the upcoming La Liga game against Real Sociedad, but the list of players who are set to miss this game has seen the entry of even more players in the last few days.

One such player who will not be able to play this game is the recent summer signing Joan Garcia, who tore his medial meniscus recently and is set to remain on the sidelines for 4-6 weeks as he will have to undergo arthroscopy.

This turn of affairs has significantly impacted another goalkeeper as well, as Mundo Deportivo reports that Diego Kochen, who was training with the USA national team in Chile for the U-20 World Cup, has returned to Barcelona to be the backup for Wojciech Szczesny.

The 35-year-old Polish shotstopper will defend the Blaugrana goal in the absence of Garcia. Thus, Kochen will not participate in the U-20 World Cup and will serve as the backup of Szczesny.

Negotiations were quickly completed between FC Barcelona and the USA national team, as the latter completely understood the needs of the Catalan club. Eder Allen is set to be the third-choice goalkeeper, but he has little experience of playing with even the reserve team.
