This past summer, Nico Williams of Athletic Club was the focus of intense transfer rumors, drawing interest from top clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Following a stellar 2023-24 season, where he made 37 appearances and helped Athletic Club secure the 2024 Copa del Rey, Williams also played a crucial role in Spain’s success at UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany.

El Chiringuito’s José Alvarez reports that Barcelona will be putting all their eggs in the Williams basket in 2025.

“The priority for the next summer transfer window is Nico Williams,” Alvarez said (h/t Le10Sport). “The feeling is that Barça will do everything to secure Nico’s transfer. I’m told he’s currently listening calmly to Barça’s arguments. But even though it’s only November, I believe Nico Williams will be a Barça player in June.”

After a standout 2023-24 season, where he made 37 appearances and helped Athletic Club lift the 2024 Copa del Rey, Williams also played a key part in Spain’s success at UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany.

This season, the forward has scored two goals and recorded two assists in 14 appearances across all competitions for Athletic Club.
