Barcelona set sights on signature of Lille defender | OneFootball

The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona are giving serious consideration to an impending swoop for LOSC Lille star Tiago Santos.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have confirmed that Santos has made his way firmly onto the wishlist of the Blaugrana.

Deco and co. are understood to be on the lookout for reinforcements at right-back with a view to next season.

This comes with Jules Koundé, despite his stellar performances in the role, still considered by club and player alike to be first and foremost a central defender.

Alternatives to the Frenchman are therefore being sought out.

And front and centre on the agenda in Catalunya’s capital is understood to be the aforementioned Santos.

As per Sport:

‘The Blaugrana scouts have followed him for several games. The full-back is very popular for his offensive power and his good positioning at the back.’

So impressed have Barcelona’s scouts been, in fact, that Santos has begun to draw comparisons with club legend Dani Alves behind the scenes.

An offer being tabled for his services next summer, in turn, is beginning to look increasingly likely.
