Barcelona star Gavi has this weekend revealed his take that arch rivals Real Madrid are growing increasingly ‘worried’ by the state of competition between the sides.
This past season of course saw a historically one-sided trend emerge in meetings between Spanish football’s two biggest clubs.
In four fixtures between La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup, Barcelona emerged triumphant on each and every occasion.
As much culminated in a domestic treble for Hansi Flick’s side, leaving those on the other side of the Clásico divide to lick their wounds.
Speaking during an interview with Diario AS (as cited by ESPN) late this week, Blaugrana star Gavi was in turn asked whether he feels Real Madrid are ‘worried’ about the recent gap between the clubs.
And the 20-year-old was not shy in responding:
“Of course they’re worried. We won four out of four [Clásicos] and that’s never happened before. It’s logical that they’re worried. At the end of the day, we were spectacular last season and they didn’t win anything.”
