Three games into the 2025-26 season, FC Barcelona find themselves on pause as international football takes center stage. A large portion of their first-team squad is currently away with their respective national teams, with Spain once again boasting a strong Blaugrana presence.

In Spain’s emphatic 6-0 victory over Turkiye in Konya, Ferran Torres was among the standout performers, finding the net to record the 22nd international goal of his career.

With that strike, the Barça forward climbed to joint-ninth on the all-time scoring charts for La Roja, drawing level with Julio Salinas and surpassing Michel.

Speaking to the media after the match, as Mundo Deportivo has noted, Torres expressed both pride and determination in reaching this milestone.

“It is always special to play with the national team, to score, and to help the team. We played an exceptional match from the first minute to the 90th. This is the path we must follow.”

Torres then underlined his personal ambition to continue climbing Spain’s scoring ranks.

“I have always said that one of my career goals is to be among the top scorers for La Roja. You have to keep dreaming and scoring many more goals.”

The 25-year-old forward also highlighted the mentality within the squad, stressing that Spain cannot afford complacency despite their dominance:

“You can never relax, especially when playing away from home. We knew how to manage the result and took a step forward. It’s never good to carry the favorite tag because everyone is watching you, but I’m sure we will perform very well.”

Scoring for his national side in this international break would definitely be a boost for Ferran Torres, and hopefully, he will continue on with this good form as he returns to Barcelona for the upcoming games.
