Barcelona star left without squad number

A member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has as of this moment been left without a squad number for the season ahead.
The player in question? Marc-André ter Stegen.
Goalkeeper Ter Stegen is of course for his part in the midst of what has been a tumultuous week in Catalunya’s capital to date.
First, the German faced a widespread backlash for his refusal to sign Barcelona’s medical report regarding his recent surgery.
Then, word was forthcoming that his recent behaviour had culminated in Ter Stegen being stripped of the captain’s armband in Hansi Flick’s squad.
And as alluded to above, such woes for the 33-year-old are firmly reflected on La Liga’s official website.
As much now features several updated squad details, with Pau Cubarsí, for one, having seemingly earned a new jersey number.
For Ter Stegen, however, his status as public enemy no.1 is reflected in the fact that the veteran shot-stopper currently has no squad number at all:
