Barcelona star reveals past Real Madrid transfer interest | OneFootball

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week confirmed that he was the subject of interest on the part of Real Madrid early in his playing days.

The player in question? Fermín López.

Spanish international Fermín has for his part of course taken his place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital once more over recent days.

This comes following the 22-year-old’s latest starring performance in Barcelona colours.

En route to a 6-1 drubbing of Olympiacos in the Champions League, Fermín proved himself the star of the show, courtesy of a hat-trick.

Fresh off as much, the attacking midfielder in turn sat down for an interview with Catalan outlet 3CAT.

And during as much, as cited by Diario Sport, Fermín admitted that prior to joining Barcelona, he was also closely followed by the Blaugrana’s arch rivals, Real Madrid:

“It is true that there was that interest, but my father told me very few things. If you had asked me my opinion, I would have chosen Barça anyway, because it was my big dream. I’m very happy to have made it happen, and I hope I can be here for many years.”
