Barcelona came from behind to beat Atletico Madrid on Saturday, but emerged with contrasting updates on Ronald Araujo and Marc Bernal.
Araujo was withdrawn in the first half after pulling up, then his replacement Bernal also went off with an issue later. According to MD, Bernal has a sprained left ankle and will be out for 10 days, so he will miss Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg at the Spotify Camp Nou and next weekend's derby against Espanyol.
If he does not improve ahead of schedule, he could also miss the second leg, which is exactly 10 days after the La Liga meeting between the sides.
In better news, Araujo is not injured. He felt his hamstring before coming off, but did not aggravate it and is in contention to play on Wednesday.
With Frenkie de Jong already out and Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde only just back from injury, Barcelona head into midweek with Pedri and Marc Casado as their only fit central midfielders. They hope Bernal can return for the second leg at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
