An insight into the head-turning financial details of Marc-André ter Stegen’s impending departure from Barcelona has been provided on Thursday.
This comes amid the understanding that the Blaugrana will continue to pay almost the entirety of the German’s wages during his time away from the club.
Goalkeeper Ter Stegen’s Camp Nou exit is expected to be made official at any moment. Following weeks of negotiations between the 34-year-old’s entourage, Barca and Dutch giants Ajax, a breakthrough was this week at last made.
Ter Stegen has already departed Hansi Flick’s training camp in England to fly to Amsterdam, ahead of undergoing a medical and signing a one-year loan deal.
As alluded to above, though, whilst Flick and his staff will no doubt be glad to have the situation handled and out of the way, the Barcelona brass have been forced into a less-than-ideal monetary agreement…
As per a report from RAC1:
‘Ter Stegen’s departure is imminent. The tax issues regarding his salary have already been resolved, and the loan to Ajax has been finalized. Barça will pay 90% of his wages.’
