Sporting CP star and Barcelona transfer target Viktor Gyökeres has this weekend spoken out on his plans for the 2nd half of the season.

Frontman Gyökeres has of course taken his place front and centre in the headlines across all of Europe across the campaign to date.

This comes with the Swede in the midst of nothing short of a remarkable stretch of form in front of goal.

All told, in 18 appearances across all competitions to date, Gyökeres has racked up a whopping 23 goals and four assists.

With such stellar production comes inevitable outside interest, with a whole host of leading clubs from across the continent understood to be keeping a close eye on the situation of the striker in Portugal.

One such outfit come in the form of Barcelona, who, amid a search for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, have earmarked Gyökeres as a leading option.

Those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou will, in turn, no doubt be interested to hear of the former Coventry City standout this weekend speaking out on his immediate future.

As cited by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, when drawn on his plans by the media on Sunday, Gyökeres responded:

“I want to finish this season at Sporting. I love it here. New club? We will see when the time comes. I want to play, that’s crucial… and there will also be other factors.”
