As has been reported, FC Barcelona have been assessing the performances of Victor Munoz, the Osasuna winger who made his debut for the Spanish national team yesterday and scored in the 3–0 victory against Serbia.
The 22-year-old attacker, who spent a few years at La Masia, joined Osasuna last summer from Real Madrid, who still retain a degree of control over the player’s future.
Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, despite Barcelona weighing up a move for Munoz in the summer, there are factors causing them to hesitate over pursuing his signing.
Real Madrid can re-sign him over the next three consecutive summers, each in June, for €8 million (2026), €9 million (2027), or €10 million (2028).
In addition, with his release clause set at €40 million, Los Blancos are entitled to 50% of any profit Osasuna makes from his sale. The La Liga club does not wish to sell him and would only consider his departure upon payment of the full clause.

In this scenario, if the €40 million clause were met, the amount would be split equally between Osasuna and Real Madrid. This is precisely one of the aspects Barcelona is considering when deciding whether to pursue the attacker.
The fact that €20 million from Barça would end up in Real Madrid’s accounts makes the operation delicate. This does not change the fact that the forward, born in Barcelona and formerly part of La Masia, is well regarded at the club.
Munoz, who can play across all three attacking positions, is seen primarily as a left winger at Barcelona, the usual position of Raphinha.
Although players such as Marcus Rashford, Fermin Lopez, or Ferran Torres have featured on the wing in the Brazilian’s absence, Hansi Flick does not currently have a player in the squad with the same profile.
Munoz, due to his speed, intensity, and his added value in 1v1 situations, is seen as a suitable replacement for the Brazilian. But Real Madrid’s presence in the equation is creating doubts for Barcelona.
