Santos are set to have Barreal available for the derby with Palmeiras on Wednesday at 19:30 Brasília time at Arena Barueri, in round two of the Campeonato Paulista.

According to Globo.com, he has signed a four-year contract, been placed on the CBF’s BID, and registered for the competition.

Barreal had been waiting for paperwork from Cincinnati FC before he could formalise the agreement.

He was bought after standing out in the Brasileirão, wearing number 22 and finishing as Santos’ top scorer with nine goals, one more than Neymar.

The Argentine missed the opening round due to bureaucratic issues, but is now cleared to make his season debut and is expected to start under Juan Pablo Vojvoda.
