Bastoni under investigation, Calafiori and Maldini ‘to be called’ as witnesses | OneFootball

Alessandro Bastoni is the only player under formal investigation in an alleged underage prostitution case, while Riccardo Calafiori, Daniel Maldini and Kevin Bonifazi are expected to be interviewed as witnesses.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Calafiori, Maldini and Bonifazi will be called to provide information to investigators.

The Inter defender was formally notified this week that he is under investigation as part of a wider probe centred on a Milan events company said to have organised all-inclusive nights out for high-profile clients, including 64 players from Serie A and Serie B.

Bastoni is currently the only player under scrutiny because the girl he allegedly spent a night with was 17 in June 2020. Under Italian law, paying a sex worker aged 18 or over is not a crime.

Both Bastoni and the girl have denied that any sexual contact took place, let alone prostitution.
