FC Bayern are still struggling with question marks over their personnel ahead of the Bundesliga top match against TSG Hoffenheim. While top scorer Harry Kane was also unable to return to team training on Wednesday, Josip Stanisic has been given the all-clear

The start to the training week at Säbener Straße was anything but ideal for Vincent Kompany, with the record champions still without their most important attacking player ahead of the clash with the league’s most in-form team

According to the club, Harry Kane is suffering from a cold and was absent from the training ground on both Tuesday and Wednesday. It remains to be seen whether the 32-year-old will be fit again in time for Sunday. However, one thing is clear: the chances of him playing against Hoffenheim diminish significantly with every additional training day missed. It would be almost impossible for Bayern to compensate for the Englishman’s absence, as no player in the squad even comes close to his 22 Bundesliga goals

All-clear for Stanisic, also reports back

The situation for Josip Stanisic is much more positive. The Croatian had to pull out of training early on Tuesday after a collision with Jonathan Tah and complained of knee problems. However, the 25-year-old was back in full team training on Wednesday. According to the club, Stanisic has come through the situation without any major consequences and should therefore be an option again for the weekend

There was also good news from Konrad Laimer. The Austrian, who suffered a torn muscle fibre in January, has now returned to team training after individual sessions in recent days. Although it remains to be seen whether he will be able to make the squad against Hoffenheim, his return alone significantly expands Kompany’s options

The personnel situation therefore remains tense, but not hopeless. While Kane is still in doubt, Stanisic and Laimer could be important alternatives again in time for the top match.
