FC Bayern wrapped up its training camp at Lake Tegernsee with a real goal fest. In a 15-0 victory over FC Rottach-Egern, summer signing Nathaniel Brown made his debut in the jersey of the record champions. However, the most bizarre moment of the evening wasn’t caused by one of the goal scorers, but by the scoreboard.

In front of 2,600 spectators in the sold-out Birkenmoos Stadium, Vincent Kompany’s team gave the district-league side no chance. By halftime, the Munich side already had a double-digit lead and consistently extended their advantage after the break.

For Nathaniel Brown, the evening was also a special one. The left back made his first appearance in a Bayern jersey.

Brown makes his Bayern debut earlier than planned

Originally, Brown—like the other players returning from the World Cup—was scheduled to come on as a substitute around the 60th minute. However, due to the injury-forced substitution of young defender Vincent Manuba, Vincent Kompany had to adjust his plans.

Brown took the field as early as the 55th minute, with the score at 10–0, and thus logged his first minutes of playing time for the German record champions. Although the DFB national team player didn’t manage to score a goal, he could still celebrate a successful debut.

The goals in the rout were spread across several players. Filip Pavic opened the scoring, while Arijon Ibrahimović, Diego Chávez, Felipe Cardozo, and Armindo Sieb each scored twice. João Palhinha, Bara Sapoko Ndiaye, Wisdom Mike Assomo, Aleksandar Pavlovic, Joshua Kimmich, and Nuraj also found the back of the net.

Scoreboard Sparks Laughter

The most entertaining moment of the evening, however, took place off the field. After Bayern’s tenth goal, the stadium scoreboard suddenly froze at 10–0 and refused to display any further goals.

The stadium announcer took the glitch in stride and had the stands in stitches. “For those wondering: The scoreboard can count past 10. But the people operating it are probably out having a wheat beer right now,” he joked.

A short time later, the scoreboard was working again, though that didn’t change the lopsided outcome of the match.

The most prominent spectator at the goal-scoring fest was Uli Hoeneß. The honorary president of FC Bayern watched the match alongside sporting director Max Eberl and was likely satisfied with the team’s performance. Vincent Kompany, however, was still without several key players. Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and other World Cup participants are still on vacation, while Manuel Neuer was part of the squad but did not play.

With this decisive victory, FC Bayern wraps up its training camp at Lake Tegernsee and is now turning its focus to the upcoming tour of Asia, where preparations for the new season are set to intensify further.
