Bayern Munich head the all-time World Cup club scorers list on 79, with Barcelona on 78 and Real Madrid on 77.

According to Globo.com, the tournament begins on Thursday 11, and since the first edition in 1930, players from 492 clubs have scored at least once.

Internazionale sit fourth with 71, Juventus are fifth on 59.

Peñarol are the first non-European side in the ranking, ninth on 39, and they lead South America by a margin of 10 over the next best.

Vasco are the highest-placed Brazilian club, 14th with 29.

Among South American sides with 10 or more goals, 13 clubs make the cut, eight of them from Brazil. The other non-Brazilian in that cohort is River Plate of Argentina.

Fourteen Brazilian clubs have at least one World Cup goal. Players from Brazilian clubs have scored 156 in total, 147 for Brazil, with the remaining nine split as three for Paraguay, two each for Chile and Uruguay, and one apiece for Argentina and Peru.
