The visitors pulled one back through Wael Mohya, who made history by becoming the first 17-year-old to score for the club.

Bayern Munich vs Borussia Monchengladbach: Match report

Vincent Kompany made several changes to the starting line-up from the previous game, and gave starts to the likes of Kim Min-jae, Nicolas Jackson, Jamal Musiala, Leon Goretzka and Lennar Karl.

While Bayern dominated possession, it was a balanced encounter in the opening 20minutes. Bayern did find the net through a lovely move involving Lennart Karl, but the youngster was rightly flagged offside.

In the 33rd minute, Bayern broke the deadlock through a spectacular volley from Luis Diaz. The Colombian international is enjoying a terrific campaign and scored his 14th goal of the Bundesliga season, although Leon Goretzka deserves a special mention for his lovely pass.

Moments later, Nicolas Jackson created space for himself to have a crack at the goal, but his left-footed effort was saved by the goalie.

Right at the stroke of half-time, Bayern doubled the lead through Konrad Laimer. Jackson carried the ball forward and passed it to Diaz, who picked Laimer inside the box with a smart square pass. The Bayern full-back picked his spot perfectly to make it 2-0.

Laimer has been linked with a move to Liverpool, but Christian Falk has told CFBayern that there is no truth to the link.

Bayern suffered a big blow in the second half, as Kompany was forced to take Manuel Neuer off, possibly due to an injury. Jonas Urbig replaced him.

Rocco Reitz made a terrible attempt to stop Nicolas Jackson in the box, conceding a penalty and seeing a red card in the process. Jamal Musiala sets the goalkeeper in the other direction to score his first goal of the season.

Tom Bischof produced a thunderbolt from 25 yards out, but Nicolas made a good save to prevent the danger.

Nicolas Jackson deserved a goal, and he got one after Lennart Karl found him with a fantastic low cross. The Senegal striker, who apparently hopes of staying at Bayern, scored his first goal since November.
