Vincent Kompany’s side defeated RB Leipzig 6-0 on the opening day of the season, and they never looked back since, breaking records along the way.

Bayern Munich vs Stuttgart: Match report

Fresh from beating Real Madrid in midweek to secure Champions League semi-final spot, Bayern needed just a point to clinch the crown after nearest challengers Borussia Dortmund suffered a defeat at Hoffenheim on Saturday night.

Having clinched the title, Kompany can now fully focus on the Champions League, and prepare his team properly for the two-legged tie against Paris Saint-Germain.

Bayern broke Bundesliga records by scoring 109 goals this season, and there’s plenty of matches left to be played. They lost only once this season, and have been thoroughly dominant throughout the campaign.

Stuttgart, who are chasing European spots, threatened to disrupt Bayern’s party plans after Chris Fuhrich curled home a superb effort after 21 minutes.

Bayern shifted gears and responded shortly through Raphael Guerreiro who scored from close range after Jamal Musiala picked him free in the box with a fantastic cross.

Moments later, the Bavarian giants found the net yet again, this time, Guerreiro intercepted a pass and played it to Luis Diaz who found Nicolas Jackson in acres of space inside the box. The on-loan from Chelsea striker had the open goal at his mercy and he made it 2-1.

Alphonso Davies added a third nine minutes before the break, improvising well to flick the ball past Alexander Nubel from inside the area after a pass from Luis Diaz.

After the break, Harry Kane, who came on for Musiala, took just seven minutes to add a fourth with his 32nd league goal of the season.

Michael Olise came close to extend the lead on several occasions, while Chema Andres scored a late consolation for the visitors in the 88th minute.

It was a special day for Joshua Kimmich who won his 10th Bundesliga title, and he joked that he wants to win another 10 with the club.
