Bayern Munich and Dayot Upamecano reach breakthrough in contract renewal talks | OneFootball

Bayern Munich have reached a breakthrough in their task to renew Dayot Upamecano’s (27) contract, according to Foot Mercato. The France international has entered the final months of the five-year contract he signed when Bayern Munich poached him from RB Leipzig back in 2021. Upamecano’s contractual situation has put major clubs – such as Real Madrid and PSG – on high alert, although Bayern Munich were always convinced to persuade Upamecano his future lies at the Allianz Arena.

According to the outlet, Bayern Munich have reached an agreement with Upamecano regarding the financial terms of his potential new contract with the Bundesliga champions. However, there remains a stumbling block. Upamecano’s entourage would like to include a release clause in his contract as early as this summer whereas Bayern Munich would prefer to set a release clause which could be activated in the summer of 2027.
