Bayern Munich’s goalkeeping crisis has deepened after number two Jonas Urbig, 22, sustained a knee injury with Germany, following absences for Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich from the club’s last two matches.

The club said in a statement that Urbig suffered a right knee joint capsule injury while on his first call-up to the Germany squad, and he has left the camp. He did not travel to Basel to face Switzerland in a friendly.

Neuer is nursing a calf tear. Ulreich has a right thigh adductor problem and has been out since mid-March.

The day before, Neuer resumed individual training in Munich while many team-mates were on international duty.

It remains uncertain whether any Bayern goalkeeper will be fit to face Freiburg on 4 April, then Real Madrid on 7 and 15 April in the Champions League quarter-finals. That doubt hangs over the Bundesliga leaders.
