Bayern Munich will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they face PSV Eindhoven away from home in the Champions League on Wednesday night. 

The Bavarian giants are have already qualified for the knockround rounds, but they will look to make a statement, after suffering a shock 2-1 defeat in their previous Bundesliga game against Augsburg last weekend.

Bayern have won six of seven Champions League games and beat Union Saint-Gilloise 2-0 in their previous round.

Status: Out 

Injury: Torn muscle fibre

Laimer picked up a torn muscle fibre in the calf area during Bayern’s 3-1 win against Koln, and it has been suggested that he will be out for three or four weeks.

Raphael Guerreiro

Status: Out 

Injury: Strain 

The versatile defender was ruled out of last Saturday’s clash against Augsburg with a calf strain, and he has been ruled out of the PSV Eindhoven clash, informs Christian Falk.

Kim Min-jae

Status: Out 

Suspension

The South Korean defender picked up two yellow cards in the previous Champions League game, and he is suspended for this one.

Sacha Boey

Status: Doubtful 

Reason: Illness 

Sacha Boey has finally returned to training after illness and could play a part against the Dutch side. The defender has been linked with a move away from the club this month, and while his future still remains up in the air, it looks most likely that he will stay put.

Josip Stanisic

Injury: ligament injury in the right ankle 

Stanisic suffered a ligament injury during the 8-1 win over Wolfsburg and missed Bayern’s recent matches. The defender has returned to training, but Vincent Kompany could give him more time to recover fully. He is likely to return in mid-February.

Serge Gnabry

Reason: Illness; gastrointestinal infection 

Gnabry has been one of the bright sparks for Kompany this season, and there have been talks of handing him a new deal at the club. However, he is unavailable for this game.

Dayot Upamecano

Status: 50-50

Reason: Illness 

A lot of talk has been going on regarding Upamecano’s contract situation, but what remains clear is that he has been outstanding at the back, and the club need him.
