Bayern Munich join Chelsea in the race to sign Jérémy Jacquet | OneFootball

Interest in Stade Rennais defender Jérémy Jacquet (20) continues to grow. As previously reported, almost all of the Premier League’s ‘Big clubs’ are in for the France youth international. Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, and current league leaders Arsenal are all keen on signing the centre-back, who, since returning from a loan spell at Clermont Foot just 12 months ago, has enjoyed a rapid rise under Habib Beye. 

However, there is also interest on the continent. Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Jacquet, and as per a report from L’Équipe, Bayern Munich are now interested, too. Alongside Chelsea, the Bundesliga side are cited as one of the most interested parties.

Rennes, however, do not want to do a deal this month. The centre-back’s deal runs until 2029, and the idea is to retain him until the end of the season. The door will then be opened for an exi,t and when it does, Les Rennais are hoping to garner a similar fee to that obtained for Jérémy Doku when he joined Manchester City (€66m).
