Real Madrid are not going through a good time right now. The club have performed poorly in both league and Europe, with the reigning champions suffering their third loss of the Champions League in the league stage this week.
Fans are hoping for things to improve next season, with Real Madrid likely to make multiple moves in the transfer market.
One of the club’s priorities is to bring in Bayer Leverkusen starlet Florian Wirtz, who is widely regarded as one of the best talents in Europe right now.
However, a recent report from The Athletic (h/t AS) has revealed that Real Madrid are not doing so well in the race to sign Wirtz either.
As per the report, Bayern Munich have overtaken Los Blancos in the pursuit of the Leverkusen superstar, who is likely to leave for a big club in 2025.

Bayer Leverkusen are demanding a staggering €100 million for the services of Wirtz next season, which was thought to be problem for Bayern.
However, it appears the Bavarians are ready to go all out in the pursuit of Wirtz, in a desperate attempt to form the ‘Wusiala’ combination in attack.
Bayern’s idea is to sell some highly-paid players next summer in order to ease the balance sheet. The likes of Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane and Leon Goretzka, therefore, could be on the chopping block.
Bayern are expected to utilise their sale to fund a move for Wirtz. As for Real Madrid, the club have not lost sight of the German either.
However, Real Madrid’s pursuit of Wirtz will depend on Xavi Alonso, who has been identified as the ideal man to replace Carlo Ancelotti.
