A member of the attacking ranks at German champions Bayern Munich has confirmed that he held talks with Barcelona, over a potential summer transfer to the club.
The player in question? Luis Díaz.
The name of attacker Díaz of course emerged as a prominent one in the chatter surrounding Barcelona this past summer.
As much came amid the Blaugrana’s widely-publicised search for fresh blood out wide.
In the end, Díaz did make the call to depart Liverpool, but for a new adventure in Germany, rather than Spain.
Speaking to the media in the aftermath of Bayern Munich’s Champions League opening day victory over Chelsea on Wednesday night, the Colombian, in turn, was drawn on his Camp Nou links.
And Díaz went on to confirm that, whilst negotiations did take place, he is more than happy with his decision to join Bayern:
“I’m very happy to be at this great club. There were talks (with Barça), which is normal in the transfer market, with several teams. I’m very happy with my decision. I’ve made an objective decision about my future, and the most important thing is that I’m coming to a great club. So I’ll try to do my best.”
