Both sides have endured a mixed start to the tournament with a win and a defeat apiece.

Arsenal lost 2-1 at home to Lyon before bouncing back with a 2-0 victory against Benfica.

The German giants suffered a humbling 7-1 defeat to Barcelona on the opening matchday, before beating Juventus 2-1 in their second game.

Giulia Gwinn insists Bayern Munich can “hurt” Arsenal

Bayern Munich full-back Giulia Gwinn has promised “fire” on the pitch when they host Arsenal at the Allianz Arena.

“We have developed a good self-confidence. We are in a good flow,” Gwinn told German outlet BR24.

“The base is always to collectively defend. But we also have enough quality up front to hurt Arsenal”

There is expected to be around 15,000 supporters in attendance at the Allianz Arena.

Gwinn added: “These are cool highlight games. It’s always something nice to play under the floodlights.

“It’s going to be fire on the pitch. It may be a bit cold in the stadium, but we’ll make sure they (Bayern fans) have a reason to celebrate.”

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich head coach Jose Barcala demanded in his press conference that his side are “brave and dominant” in their clash with the Gunners.

How have Arsenal fared against Bayern Munich in the past?

The two sides met in the old group stage format of the Women’s Champions League last season.

Bayern Munich were the more impressive side over the two legs, although they shared victories.

In Munich, Bayern took a 5-2 victory with Pernille Harder scoring a second-half hat-trick. Sydney Lohmann, who has since joined Manchester City, and Glodis Perla Viggosdottir also got onto the scoresheet.

Arsenal, though, did beat Bayern 3-2 in the return game, with Viggosdottir scoring an own goal, before Alessia Russo and Mariona Caldentey also got onto the scoresheet.

Across their seven meetings, Bayern Munich have won four games and Arsenal three.

Arsenal can take confidence from Barcelona

The Gunners will take some confidence from how Bayern Munich fared against Barcelona.

Renee Slegers’ side beat Barcelona to win the Champions League last season. Barcelona, in their first game in the competition since that defeat, thrashed Bayern Munich 7-1.

Ewa Pajor and Claudia Pina scored braces, while Alexia Putellas, Esmee Brugts and Salma Paralluelo also got onto the scoresheet.

Bayern Munich, though, should pose a bigger threat at home, and Slegers in her press conference pointed out the danger of England midfielder Georgia Stanway.
