Of 86 adults initially held, 19 had custody extended. Eleven were referred to prosecutors on Thursday night, with one set for an immediate appearance on Saturday. Three people received court summonses and 49 cases were dropped.

Of nine minors residing in Paris who were held, one was referred, three had custody extended and five cases were closed. Offences include violence against police officers, which carries up to five years in prison and a 15,000 euro fine. Aggravated cases involving group action or a weapon carry up to 10 years and a 150,000 euro fine.

In the Paris area 127 people were arrested, 11 were injured, including one seriously, and 23 police officers sustained minor injuries. One person was released from custody after suffering a broken jaw during the intervention.

The final between PSG and Arsenal is on 30 May in Budapest. Interior minister Laurent Nuñez has voiced concern over a unilateral announcement by the mayor of Paris, Emmanuel Grégoire, to create a fan zone that night. Grégoire’s camp said it was a wish for a free screening area, adding any plan would consider security.
