Sport Bild reports that Bayern Munich are working on a contract for 17-year-old Lennart Karl running until 2031.
It has been widely reported that his youth deal will automatically convert into a professional contract until 2029 when he turns 18 in February.
Following his first-team breakthrough this season, the proposed extension would also bring a pay rise, from €one to €two million to between €five and €seven million per year.
Karl underlined his form on Tuesday, scoring twice in a 5-0 friendly win over RB Salzburg. He has six goals and two assists in 22 competitive appearances this season.
He recently said he would like to play for Real Madrid at some point in his career, comments Bayern executives Christoph Freund and Max Eberl downplayed on Tuesday. Eberl said mistakes are understandable at 17, noted Karl told them he had misspoken, and stressed the club have no problem with him. He added the youngster is learning and very good on the pitch, with performances that show his quality across Germany.
