Bayern Munich’s flawless start to the season came to an end as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Union Berlin, despite a stoppage-time equaliser from Harry Kane.

Union took a surprise lead midway through the first half when Danilho Doekhi’s close-range strike slipped under Manuel Neuer, marking the first time Bayern had trailed this season.

The visitors levelled through a moment of magic from Luis Díaz, who somehow kept Josip Staniši?’s pass in play before turning and blasting into the near corner from a tight angle.

Bayern were again punished late on when Kane inadvertently headed a free-kick into Doekhi’s path, allowing the defender to grab his second of the match. But the England striker redeemed himself in the 93rd minute, rising to head home Tom Bischof’s cross for his 13th Bundesliga goal of the season.

The result ends Bayern’s run of 16 straight wins in all competitions, though they remain unbeaten and top of the Bundesliga table.
