Enzo Fernandez wants improved contract at Chelsea

Chelsea’s priority in the summer is believed to be a new midfielder to ease the burden on both Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

The Blues have been linked with the likes of Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson, and it will be interesting to see what they do in the summer.

Fernandez has been linked with a move to PSG, and is now represented by a new agency, and according to BBC Sport they’ve informed Chelsea their client wants improved terms.

The report adds Fernandez is known to admire Real Madrid, but Chelsea are said to be relaxed about any negotiations as the 25-year-old is under contract until 2032, and they have no intention of selling the World Cup winner.

Fernandez has been in good form for Chelsea this season, and has scored ten goals and registered four assists in 34 appearances in all competitions.

Romeo Lavia back in training

Whilst Fernandez is putting in impressive performances this season, Chelsea have been handed a boost with Romeo Lavia returning to training.

Lavia hasn’t featured since the 2-2 draw with Qarabag in the Champions League in November, but he’s now returned to training.

Rosenior has confirmed Lavia isn’t ready to return to the match day squad yet, and the sooner he’s back the better it will be for Chelsea.

Lavia has shown his quality and importance to the side when he’s played, the problem is he’s made 30 appearances in two and a half years at the club, and Chelsea will be hoping they can sort his constant injury issues once and for all.
