Ben Chilwell tops Strasbourg’s wage bill | OneFootball

A summer arrival from Chelsea, Ben Chilwell tops the wage bill at RC Strasbourg Alsace, according to a report from L’Équipe. 

Chilwell, who struggled for game time at Stamford Bridge since his serious knee injury back in 2021, was one of the players that Chelsea were desperate to get off their books. The left-back was earning a salary of €850,000 per month, and so Strasbourg, who share the same BlueCo owners, presented itself as an ideal destination.

Chilwell’s salary has decreased significantly, but on €300,000 per month, he is still the highest earner at the Meinau, ahead of Ismael Doukouré and Chelsea-bound Emanuel Emegha, both of whom earn €250,000 per month.

Peripheral Amougou one of Strasbourg’s top earners

In fourth place is Mathis Amougou. Another arrival from Chelsea, he has played only nine matches all season, accumulating 267 minutes in Ligue 1. The midfielder arrived for €15m and earns €200,000 per month. Currently, he is far from justifying the significant outlay. Former Brighton and Hove Albion playmaker Julio Enciso rounds out the top five (€200,000), whilst Sébastien Nanasi (€160,000), Andrew Omobamidele (€160,000), Guéla Doué (€160,000), Joaquín Panichelli (€120,000), and Valentín Barco (€120,000) close out the top 10.
