Arsenal confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that Ben White has suffered an injury, a setback which is expected to rule the defender out until the start of next season.

As a result, White will miss the Champions League final against PSG, and his participation at the 2026 World Cup is now in serious doubt.

According to the club statement, the player has sustained a “significant medial knee ligament injury”, picked up during Sunday’s match against West Ham.

"Our medical team are now managing Ben’s recovery and rehabilitation programme, with everyone fully focused on supporting the aim of Ben being ready for the start of our pre-season preparations." the statement read, confirming that the player is likely to miss out on England's squad for the World Cup.

Thomas Tuchel will announce his 26-man squad on 22 May. The World Cup begins on 11 June.
