VfL Wolfsburg have already confirmed the departures of a number of players following their relegation from the Bundesliga, but many more are expected to follow.
One of the players who could be on the move and is attracting significant interest is Dzenan Pejcinovic.
According to Kicker, Benfica are very keen on the 21-year-old striker. However, the striker is said to prefer staying in Germany, where Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen and SC Freiburg are understood to be keeping tabs on him.
In principle, the report claims, Wolfsburg would like to keep Pejcinovic and see him as a key player in their bid to return to the top flight next season.
However, an “exceptional offer” in excess of €20 million could still convince them to sell.
The Germany U21 international scored 12 goals in 34 games for Wolfsburg in the 2025/26 season.
