According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica have been linked with Brighton centre-back Olivier Boscagli, 28, as they weigh options for 2026/27, with Nicolás Otamendi’s exit triggering a defensive reshuffle and António Silva’s future still uncertain.
The left-footed defender stands 1.81 metres and is noted for his build-up play and versatility. A France Under-21 international, he can also operate on the left side of the back line.
After six seasons at PSV in the Eredivisie, Boscagli joined Brighton in the summer of 2025 on a long-term contract through 2030. Any move would be complicated, requiring negotiations with the Premier League club.
There is no official confirmation of talks between the clubs. The link indicates Benfica remain active in the market and intent on shoring up a back line that could change markedly.
In 2025/26 for Brighton, Boscagli, valued at €15 million, made 17 competitive appearances, including 12 in the Premier League, two in the FA Cup and two in the League Cup. Across 1,178 minutes, he recorded one goal and one assist.
