Benfica are progressing summer plans and have earmarked Nobel Mendy, the 21-year-old Senegalese centre-back on loan at Rayo Vallecano from Betis, for 2026/27. According to Glorioso 1904, Rayo are set to sign him permanently and Betis expect to bank between six and eight million euros in total if he is sold on for more.
Rayo would buy 80% of his rights for two point four million euros plus add-ons, with Betis retaining 20%. That stake underpins hopes of a bigger return should a future transfer happen.
Nottingham Forest, Benfica and Atalanta are among the sides keen on Mendy as his performances draw wider attention. There are no agreements at this stage, but the interest is considered genuine and the situation could develop in the coming weeks.
Mendy is regarded as a defender with room to grow, combining strong physical attributes with defensive versatility.
This season he has made 23 appearances, scoring two goals in 1,633 minutes. He is valued at six million euros.
