Benfica will face Juventus in Turin without travelling support after a UEFA sanction, the away section has been handed to home fans. According to Glorioso 1904, there will be no Benfica supporters inside Allianz Stadium.

The punishment follows the use of flares at Ajax on the 5th matchday, which barred Benfica from selling tickets for this fixture. Juventus opened the visitors’ sector to their own tifosi, with few seats left.

Around 2,000 tickets initially set aside for the visitors have been reallocated to Juventus supporters. Juventus, led by Luciano Spalletti, are 17th in the Champions League league phase on nine points, while Benfica sit 25th, one below the playoff places, on six.

Benfica return to a ground of good memories, they have never lost there. Last year they sealed a playoff spot on the final matchday with a 2-0 win, scored by Vangelis Pavlidis and Orkun Kokçu.

The Bianconeri meeting is scheduled for 21 January at 20:00. Later today, José Mourinho, who has received positive news, will be joined by a player to preview the Champions League tie.
